COEUR d’ALENE — Verdis, a woman-owned engineering, planning, landscape design and construction firm, is moving to a new location following a record-setting year.

The firm, which has been in rented space since opening 14 years ago, is moving to 3906 N. Schreiber Way in Coeur d’Alene. Verdis was most recently a tenant in the Parkside building in Downtown Coeur d’Alene.

“We needed more space. We are growing rapidly and bringing on new team members faster than we can order laptops and desks to accommodate them,” said Verdis President Sandy Young.

Verdis began as a local land use planning/landscape architecture business focusing on local projects and has grown from three employees in 2007 to a team of 30 including civil engineers, draftsmen, landscape architects, planners, construction superintendents and laborers. The company has landed more than 135 state and federal contracts in 14 states since 2015, the year Verdis became certified under the 8(a) Business Development Program.

Verdis doubled its sales in 2020 despite the pandemic and Young said the company is projecting another record year. The company’s new office, which will open Feb. 8, is nearly three times larger than the space Verdis is vacating in downtown Coeur d’Alene. With the additional space, Verdis can bring the company’s professional and construction teams together in one location with space for equipment, trucks, trailers, and tools.

Idaho Trust Bank provided the financing for the building purchase. Verdis Project Manager Stephanie Koch, Superintendent Nate Conces and interior decorator Katrina DeSocio supervised the remodel of the building, and Mike and Kris Mazzuca of the Recovery Room designed and created the meeting room acoustic panels.
