The Women of Impact Leadership Roundtable meet for the final series of this session in April, and we landed on the “D” in our I.M.P.A.C.T.E.D year. Diversity. Hot topic. Big topic. A where should we start, Topic. Diversity; the practice or quality of including or involving people from a range of different social and ethnic backgrounds and of different genders, sexual orientations, etc.

Ah spring — what a wonderful time of the year. The birds are singing, flowers blooming and the leaves on trees are turning to a beautiful hue. Wait. It’s the first week in April and it has been snowing off and on the last few weeks. The birds are confused, the flowers are trying to pop out of hibernation and the leaves haven’t quite sprouted yet. But as the saying goes, “April Showers Bring May Flowers.” I don’t think that meant snow showers.

HAYDEN CHAMBER: North Idaho — a special place to live and work
If good news should be shared, great news ought to be shouted. Last December when I was visiting my son in New York, a restaurant server asked me where I was visiting from. Proudly I said, Idaho, North Idaho. The server smiled and said, tell me about it (As an aside, that’s a great question, and so much nicer than where’s that?!). I smiled and said, “North Idaho is full of amazing people. It’s the type of area where you know your neighbors and bump into people you know at the grocery store and out at events. There’s a sense of community pride."

Idaho Gov. Brad Little has announced that February is STEM Matters Month. In its eighth year, STEM Matters has morphed from a one-day celebration at the Idaho State Capitol to a weeklong virtual event during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic to a monthlong statewide celebration.
