With a new year comes new leadership and we are proud to announce our new Chairman of the Board, Julie Holt, president of Kootenai Health Foundation.

Julie received the leadership "baton" from our now Past Chairman of the Board, Jerry Lyon, North Idaho Market President of First Interstate Bank.

We have a solid executive team which includes Chair Elect Eric Knudtsen, General Manager for Knudtsen Chevrolet; Randy Oaks, Principal with Haddock & Associates; and Jessie Morrow.

Our returning Board of Directors include: Mark Woodworth, Murray Group; Dena Naccarato, Post Falls School District; Christi Fleischman, Knock Marketing and Design; Graydon Stanley, North Idaho College; Brian Brigham, Northwest Specialty Hospital; Tag Jacklin, Riverbend Commerce Park; Tavis Throm, State Farm Insurance; Scot Frazer, Cascade Defense and Cindy Jordan with Jordan Sales and Service.

This is an incredible group of leaders that are focused on doing the very best for our community. I am honored to work with each and every one.

One of the first orders of business for 2021 was to hear from our members through a member survey which had great participation. We had excellent suggestions for the newsletter, ideas for educational opportunities and a significant interest in our committees. There was one very clear theme in all of the responses; our members value relationships most of all.

When Julie Holt shared her focus for 2021, at the annual meeting last December, she said that her favorite part of being involved with the Post Falls Chamber of Commerce was the relationships she has gained. It’s clear our members agree!

In the upcoming year, we will focus on ways to grow relationships with our members, city and regional officials, nonprofit organizations, and the surrounding communities. Together we are stronger.

There are many great things to come in 2021. For starters did you know about the “Business in the Know Series?” In a partnership with North Idaho College Small Business Development Center, there are free classes on a full range of business topics starting in February, every Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. You can find a list of classes and a link to register on our website.

The CEO Speakers Series is back. This series features executive leaders, from our community, sharing their personal stories of success in an intimate luncheon atmosphere.

We kick off with Timothy Ledford, CEO for Safeguard on Tuesday, March 9. You won’t want to miss hearing how a school project sparked an idea for a product that is now saving lives across the world! Timothy’s passion shines when he shares why Safeguard does what it does. For now, we are planning on being in person and the luncheon will be held at Red Lion Templin’s on the River from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sign up now, seating is limited.

Tuesday, March 16 either in person or via Zoom, the city of Post Falls will give an economic review of 2020 and a look at what’s coming in 2021. This will be a good opportunity to connect our members with some of our city officials. We are planning that this event will be in person at Red Lion Templin’s on the River from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
