“Give me a lever long enough and a fulcrum on which to place it, and I shall move the world.” — Archimedes

Our article this month was inspired by the Chamber Mentor newsletter written by our good friend Pat McGaughey and Jackie Wright our new Business Development Director. The definition of leverage is using something to its maximum advantage, and the definition of fulcrum is the support about which a lever turns. The Chamber is the fulcrum for you to leverage your business.

Our vision, mission and values are centered on being there to serve, protect and promote our members. There is power in numbers and we protect you by providing information and opportunities to advocate for local, state and federal legislative issues through public policy. We serve by being a business and education data center. We provide weekly information to help you grow your business, and if you need an answer on an issue in your business, we can be your go-to resource. We promote you through in-person networking events and a multitude of marketing opportunities.

We know many of our members are short staffed so USE US, we are here for you!

There were plenty of ways to engage in the month of October and we kicked off the month with a party to say thank you to our members, we had a great time celebrating with all of you! Then we hosted a new event called “Meet the Speaker” where members had the opportunity to have lunch and hear what our Idaho State House of Representatives Speaker of the House, Scott Bedke had to say about current legislative issues. On Oct. 19, we had our Connect 4 Lunch sponsored by Inland Northwest SIDS Foundation. We welcomed Anita Parisot, associate manager — Field Marketing for TDS on “What to expect when you are expecting fiber.” We have been busy for sure and there are more ways to connect and learn coming up…

• Coffee and Connections, Oct. 27, 8 a.m. here at the Chamber. Erin Elliot, DDS will talk about “Sleep, and why a dentist cares.” This event is free to attend.

• Mayor Ron Jacobson will be giving his State of the City Address on Nov. 16 and Red Lion Templin’s on the River sponsored by Idaho Central Credit Union. You will not want to miss a report of the accomplishments and success that the city of Post Falls has seen in 2021.

• The RCLA Alumni will be hosting our Annual Pajama Drive Party on Dec. 3, from 4-6 p.m. at the Post Falls Chamber. Thank you to our Event Sponsor, Idaho Central Credit Union! All pajamas collected go to the Post Falls Police Department’s Victim Services Unit also known as OASIS — a program helping women and children.

• Finally, we are excited to announce the Post Falliday’s Tiny Tree Festival on Dec. 4 at Red Lion Templin’s from 10 a.m. to noon. Start thinking about themes for your trees, more details coming soon.

If you are not connected with us on social media, I encourage you to ‘like’ our Facebook page and follow our new Post Falls Chamber of Commerce YouTube page where we share recordings of some of our events and of course please tag the Visit Post Falls Instagram page when you have fun photos of Post Falls.

Proudly Serving You,
