Cd'A receives TDS Fiber-Fast Community Award

The city of Coeur d’Alene recently received TDS Telecommunications’ Fiber-Fast Community designation. The award marks the completion of TDS’ fiber internet network and recognizes residents’ and businesses’ access to the internet service it provides.

TDS has wrapped up major construction activities in Coeur d’Alene as it continues work in other North Idaho communities including Post Falls, Rathdrum and Hayden Lake. In Coeur d’Alene, crews built about 113 miles of fiber to serve more than 17,000 homes and businesses.

The award was presented at an event with Mayor Jim Hammond on Wednesday, June 14. Linda Coppess, president and CEO of the Coeur d'Alene Regional Chamber, also accepted an award on behalf of the chamber.

“We are thrilled to celebrate the end of our construction project in Coeur d’Alene. The completion of our fiber network represents a major upgrade for the community’s infrastructure, funded by millions and millions of dollars of private investment,” said Michele Slattery, TDS Vice President of Sales. “We’re proud to bring faster, more reliable internet connections to thousands of residents and businesses. We also thank local officials and the community for their patience during construction. We look forward to serving Coeur d’Alene for many years to come.”
