Hayden Chamber: Time to jumpstart your focus
While September signals the end of summer and children are returning to school, now is the time to jumpstart your focus on a more regimented schedule that you may have let loose over the past few summer months and reinvigorate the goals you may have ignored. It’s also a time to take a step back and maybe set some new priorities.
One thing I noticed a lot this summer is why are so many people tied to their cellphones? I never realized how much I look at mine until I had someone try to grab it from me and I reacted like it was a part of my body being torn off.
It’s in my hand more than I realize. But, I wonder, what would we do without our cellphones. And isn’t it funny that we call them cellphones when we rarely use them as phones anymore. More than not, we’re emailing, texting or bouncing around to social media apps.
We use our phones for work, banking, buying and selling of goods, playing games, looking up the weather and, of course, my favorite feature — a camera … as you may know if you see pictures on our Hayden Chamber social media apps. I know I not only use my phone for personal but also for everything business with the Chamber … answering phone calls and emails away from the office.
Seriously, what would we do without it?! This piece of equipment does so much for us, AND it even fits in my purse. It’s an unbeatable instrument of communication which some of us could not function successfully without.
And this is why the chamber is considering another new way of communicating with our members — through text messages. With more and more barriers stopping our important emails from reaching our intended recipients, we are looking for new ways to assure valuable chamber information reaches you. After all, if you do not know what’s happening at the chamber, how are you truly maximizing your membership?
There is so much important information to share from the chamber, whether it be about events, member benefits or volunteer opportunities — we want to be sure you know about it.
If we open this new line of communication, would you opt in? Watch for more details as we try to launch this around the first of the year.
The Hayden Chamber is looking forward to working with Triple Play as they host “Hayden Haunts,” a Zombie walk from the chamber office through Hayden restaurants and businesses enjoying food and beverage samples. There will be giveaways and prizes for the best costumes. This will be held on Saturday, Oct. 14 from 5-9 p.m. More details to follow in an email.
I hope you all have a great start to the fall season not only in your personal life but in business as well. Take time to sit back and see all our area has to offer with the changing season.
