I love the work we do. Chambers of Commerce are essential for businesses in several key ways. We foster networking and partnerships by creating opportunities for businesses to connect. We advocate for local businesses by speaking up on local, regional and national levels, ensuring their concerns are heard by policymakers and helping to shape favorable business conditions. We provide a hub of valuable resources, such as information, training and mentorship programs, to help businesses thrive and grow. We actively promote local businesses and the community, attracting customers, investors and tourists through our marketing efforts. We support initiatives that improve the area's quality of life and infrastructure, making it more attractive to residents and businesses alike. Our work plays a vital role in supporting the economic vitality of our community, and it is an honor to do this work.

Last week, we celebrated the 4th annual Educator Thank You Day. Member businesses donated cash, food, notes of thanks or tokens of appreciation, and then we dropped off big baskets of thanks to everyone involved in the public and private sectors of education in Post Falls. It is such a joy to show our appreciation for the important role these people have in developing our youth!

Earlier this month, we wrapped up our support of the 14th annual Hard Hats, Hammers & Hotdogs. There were 400 students from all over North Idaho who spent the day exploring the trades with hands-on exhibits and the opportunity to operate heavy machinery, welding, and more. Students explored many of the vocational careers offered by Kootenai Technical Education Center and the Parker Technical Education Center. We want to thank the H4 committee, the participating trade businesses, educational institutions and the volunteers that helped make this workforce development day happen for our kids.

Looking ahead, we're thrilled to co-present the North Idaho Business Expo and Career Fair with the Coeur d’Alene Regional Chamber on May 1, sponsored by Northwest Specialty Hospital at the Kootenai County Fairgrounds. Explore 80+ businesses, job opportunities and win a $500 cash prize. Limited vendor spots are available, so sign up now!

On May 10, join us for the State of the County event sponsored by Ziply Fiber and presented by the Joint Chamber Public Policy Committee. Don’t miss your chance to hear from our Kootenai County Commissioners and submit questions during the event.

Mark your calendars for the 32nd annual Greater Post Falls Golf Tournament on June 7 at the Links Golf Club. Sponsorships and golf teams are available. If you know, you know… we like to have a lot of fun at our golf tournament!

Visit our website for event registration and more at www.postfallschamber.org.

Lastly, let's remember to vote in the upcoming elections. Our community's future is in our hands. Just like how spring blossoms after rain, tough times can lead to brighter days ahead. Stay focused and optimistic as you navigate through obstacles, knowing that better days are on the horizon.
