Woodard joins ICF Regional Council
Joan Woodard of Coeur d’Alene has joined the Idaho Community Foundation Regional Council.
As a Regional Council member, Woodard will help ICF understand the needs in Coeur d’Alene and the Kootenai County area, and which community organizations are working to address those needs. She will also advise on ICF’s Forever Idaho Regional Grant program, which distributed nearly $260,000 in North Idaho in 2023, including more than $79,000 in Kootenai County.
“I’m excited to learn more about the nonprofits and individuals dedicated to improving North Idaho,” Woodard said. “I have only lived here for six years, but I think this is the most philanthropically focused state I’ve ever seen. As a Regional Council member, I hope to broaden my appreciation for North Idaho and help to support causes that will help it thrive in all respects.”
Woodard has been active in the Women’s Gift Alliance for five years where she currently serves as the treasurer and member of the Grants Committee. She is also the scholar liaison for the 3C’s Book Club.
Prior to moving to Coeur d’Alene, Woodard spent more than 40 years in commercial real estate development and management in Georgia and California. She served on the Community Foundation Sonoma County board of directors for 11 years. She currently serves as a contract hearing examiner for Kootenai County.
