Yonker joins ICF Regional Council
Clem Yonker of Sandpoint has joined the Idaho Community Foundation Regional Council.
As a Regional Council member, Yonker will help ICF understand the needs in the Sandpoint and Bonner County area, and which community organizations are working to address those needs. He will also advise on ICF's Forever Idaho Regional Grant program, which distributed nearly $260,000 in North Idaho in 2023, including more than $28,000 in Bonner County.
"I'm looking forward to sharing our local community needs and the various nonprofit organizations that enhance our lives here in the northern region," Yonker said.
Yonker and his wife, Lori Getts, focus their philanthropy and interests on environmental and natural resource protection, wildlife habitat conservation, historical preservation, education and the arts. They have been involved with the local chapter of the Idaho Master Naturalists, the Kaniksu Land Trust and the Bonner County Historical Society. They serve as greeters at the history museum every week to welcome visitors and help answer questions.
Yonker is a retired staff scientist from the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory in Richland, Wash. He has a doctorate in analytical chemistry from the University of Arizona.
"We are proud to be members of this vibrant community using our time, knowledge and financial resources to support local land, people and needs in Bonner County and throughout the state of Idaho," Yonker said.
