Cuvala retires from Benewah Community Hospital and Idaho Hospital Association board

The Idaho Hospital Association (IHA) recognizes the leadership of Peggy Cuvala as she retires from the Benewah Community Hospital (BCH) Board of Trustees and steps down from her trustee position on the IHA Board.

Cuvala has been a pillar of the BCH Board for 25 years and as the North Idaho Trustee Representative on the IHA Board for six years, she has been instrumental in advocating for improved health care access and services in her community and across the state. Her unwavering commitment and tireless efforts have significantly contributed to the betterment of health care in Idaho. 

Cuvala's work has shown how crucial rural health care is and the significant positive impact it can have on a local community. 

Dr. Bob McFarland will be joining the IHA Board as the North Region Hospital Trustee representative. With a wealth of knowledge and experience, Dr. McFarland has served as a trustee for Kootenai Health since 2021. He spent 20 years as an independent family physician and most recently worked as an instructor for the Kootenai Clinic Family Medicine Residency. Dr. McFarland has held positions in medical organizations throughout Idaho and has represented the state on committees for the University of Washington School of Medicine. His extensive background in health care and dedication to improving patient care will greatly benefit the mission of IHA.
