Keaton Lee started Crazy K Kustomz, LLC in June 2023, just before high school graduation.
"The funny part about starting a business at 17, you cannot have a business checking account until the age of 18," Lee said. "It was a bit challenging for me as a business owner until my birthday."
Lee is in charge of everything as the only employee.
"I am a custom painter who creates unique and personalized projects," Lee said. "My work has allowed me to do a multitude of items from motorcycles, helmets, old trucks, landcruisers, skateboard decks, guitars and 75-year-old refrigerators. The last refrigerator I painted received a little over 1.1 million views on Instagram — shocking to say the least."
Lee expressed her gratitude to all those who have supported and those who have trusted her work.
"This is really an honor to be named a 40 Under 40 winner, especially being 18," she said. "Hard work and dedication pay off. This has been a tremendous year."
She thanked local companies for their support, time, space and trust.
"I would not be this far along if it weren't for your kindness," she said.
