A vibrant fall at the Post Falls Chamber: Celebrating milestones and embracing change
As October unfolds, the autumn season is truly upon us. The vibrant hues of the changing leaves, the crispness in the air, and the sense of togetherness that fall brings serve as reminders of the beauty that surrounds us here in Post Falls. At the Post Falls Chamber of Commerce, this season has been particularly busy, filled with significant events, celebrations and important transitions within our team.
One of the highlights of this fall has been our 60th Anniversary Membership Appreciation Party, a special celebration in honor of our dedicated members. These are the individuals and businesses who have helped shape our chamber into what it is today. The evening was a wonderful opportunity to reflect on our shared achievements, strengthen our connections, and express our heartfelt gratitude to all who have supported us throughout the years. We want to extend a sincere thank you to everyone who attended the event and contributed to making it a night to remember. It was a true celebration of community, collaboration and progress.
As I mentioned in a previous update, the Post Falls Chamber has undergone several significant changes over the past few years, adapting to the needs of our growing community. Today, I am sharing news of another major transition: Val Wilcox, a key member of our team, is retiring after more than 30 years of dedicated service. Val's contributions to the chamber, as well as to local tourism and the broader business community, have been immeasurable. Her positive spirit, dedication and unwavering commitment to the betterment of our community will be missed by all.
Val’s retirement marks the end of an era, but we are excited for her as she embarks on the next chapter of her life. Her impact will continue to resonate through her volunteer work with various local organizations. As we look for someone to fill her shoes, we invite anyone with a passion for supporting the business community to consider joining our team or sharing the opportunity with others.
On a lighter note, I’ve recently returned from a chamber travel group trip, where we explored the breathtaking landscapes of Ireland. These travel experiences offer a unique way for members to connect while discovering new cultures and destinations. Looking ahead, we have some exciting travel opportunities, including trips to the French Riviera and Costa Rica. RaeAnne will be leading the French Riviera trip, which promises to be full of fun and memorable experiences. If you’re interested in joining us, please reach out for more information on how to reserve your spot.
In addition to these travels, we have several key events coming up that I encourage you to attend:
Oct. 24: Business After Hours at the Coeur d'Alene Casino from 4-6 p.m. This is a fantastic networking opportunity to connect with fellow chamber members.
Nov. 6: Unlock Your Future, an event designed for eighth-grade students to explore career options that don’t require a four-year degree. Local employers from various industries, including manufacturing, health care, and finance, will be available to discuss job opportunities.
Nov. 19: Connect 4 Lunch — State of the City, featuring Mayor Ron Jacobson. This event always sells out as it provides valuable insights into the achievements and future plans for our city. Be sure to register early.
Dec. 6: RCLA Alumni Pajama Drive/City of Post Falls Winterfest, a community-driven event celebrating the holiday season.
Dec. 7: Post Fallidays Tiny Tree Festival at Prairie Falls Golf Club from 10 a.m. to noon, a delightful holiday event for all ages.
We look forward to seeing you at these events as we continue to foster connection and collaboration within our vibrant community.
