40 Under 40: Kara Schwartz

A lifelong animal lover, Kara Schwartz attended grooming school in 2011.  After graduating and gaining experience, she opened Bubbles & Bows Pet Spa in Rathdrum.

Her formal grooming education is crucial to the work she does, giving her a solid foundation in pet styling, safety and customer care.  

But it is her family's unwavering support in all of her endeavors that has had the biggest influence on the person she is today.

"My parents, Pat and Paul, have led by example, showing me how honesty, passion, dedication and hard work are imperative to a successful career," she added. "My partner, Jake, has been my biggest cheerleader and always encourages me to have faith in myself and my decisions."

Schwartz loves being the owner and senior stylist at Bubbles & Bows and takes pride in providing grooming services and caring for pets in a safe, loving atmosphere. She plans to expand Bubbles & Bows next year with a new salon in the works.

Advice to her younger self: "Build a support system around you of people who want you to succeed. Owning a business can be VERY challenging.  Having family, friends and professionals you can rely on is crucial in trying times."
