40 Under 40: Dalton Cone

Dalton Cone is the owner of the North Spork, a food truck at the Post Falls Pavilion.

Cone said he had the opportunity to buy a food truck, so he went for it.

He said his schooling has given him a better understanding of managing the back end of the business, while he also learned skills and behaviors that continue to lead to his success through Boy Scouting and involvement in his church.

In five to 10 years, Cone said he sees himself with a family and a business that is able to run itself without his direct involvement.

"I see myself with more opportunities to volunteer at my church and with youth programs to help develop the next generation of leaders and entrepreneurs," he said.

If he could give his younger self some advice: "I would probably tell myself to spend the time where you need to. If family time is needed, do it. If classes need your time, get class work done. If you're sick, take the time to get well. There is always tomorrow to do everything else."
