40 Under 40: Jason 'Jay' Ray Mikluscak Jr.

Jason "Jay" Ray Mikluscak Jr. is a mobile mechanic at Jay's Mobile Auto Repair LLC.

"I started when I was young by always having to fix my family's vehicles," he said. "I began self-taught, then I stepped into the automotive field and excelled my skills exponentially as a mechanic."

Mikluscak Jr. said he has learned by trade in the automotive industry, which surpassed any education that can be offered.

"Granted, I could've gone that route, but I wanted a more hands-on experience," he said. "Also, I did take electrical engineering courses for three years when I was in high school that shaped my understanding of how electrical systems and circuits operate — schematic diagrams, etc. I do, however, take the time every day from the programs I purchase to learn new systems and how the operations and functions work."

Various experiences throughout life have impacted Mikluscak Jr., but the ones that shaped him the most in this industry were the people who put him under their wings and guided him toward success in his earlier years.

He said he is devoted to transforming the auto industry to becoming more trustworthy, where answers are guaranteed for customers.

"Living by the motto, 'Test, don't guess,'" he said.

In five to 10 years, Mikluscak Jr. said he sees himself making a change to the automotive industry in a positive manner.

"With that being said, I plan on having my own shop as well as continuing the 24/7 roadside assistance," he said. "I will always serve my customers with honesty and integrity, valuing my customers' trust in me."

Advice to a younger self: "If you want to make a change to yours and others' lives, begin now, don't wait."
