40 Under 40: Scott Harries

Scott Harries is the director of operations and information technology coordinator for Hagadone Technologies at the Hagadone Corporation.

He has over a decade of experience in product management, financial analysis and business operations across industries such as technology, real estate, finance and agriculture.

Harries holds a Master of Business Administration from Grand Canyon University and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Economics from Central Washington University.

"My education provided a strong foundation in business strategy, financial analysis and market dynamics, helping me make data-driven decisions and align product strategy with business goals," he said.

Early roles in financial analysis taught Harries how to assess business performance while product management experience at San Manuel Band of Mission Indians strengthened his ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive product strategy.

"Now at the Hagadone Corporation, I leverage this diverse background to manage large IT projects at the corporate office and improve operational efficiency at Hagadone Technologies," he said. "My ability to align strategy with execution has allowed me to deliver meaningful business outcomes and support overall growth."

Harries said his family has been the biggest influence on shaping his values and work ethic.

"Their support and guidance taught me the importance of resilience, integrity and hard work," he said. "My background in baseball also taught me the value of teamwork, discipline and performing under pressure. Competing at a high level instilled a competitive edge and a drive to succeed, which translates into how I approach business challenges. Mentoring product managers and leading cross-functional teams have also shaped my leadership style, while my work at the Hagadone Corporation has reinforced the importance of balancing strategy with hands-on execution to drive measurable business improvements."

He also credits his colleagues and co-workers, saying the award is also a recognition of their hard work and contributions.

In five to 10 years, Harries wouldn't mind being retired, but realistically he plans to have a long and prosperous career at the Hagadone Corporation.

"I’m focused on growing into a senior leadership role, where I can drive product innovation and business growth while mentoring high-performing teams," he said. "I also look forward to raising my family in North Idaho and building a strong personal and professional foundation in the community."

Advice for his younger self: "Trust the process and don’t fear failure— it’s a learning opportunity. Also, build strong relationships early; they’ve been key to my career growth."
