In a world built on convenience, one new Silver Valley business is aiming to take a little more off your plate.

Keller’s Clean-Up Services, founded earlier this year by William Keller, was born from a desire to meet a growing need in the community, something Keller recognized after years of public service.

“During my years in law enforcement, I witnessed how challenging it can be for people to keep up with their properties, whether due to busy schedules, health concerns, or simply not knowing where to begin,” Keller said. “I wanted to create a business that provides a helping hand and makes the clean-up process straightforward, respectful, and stress-free.”

From junk removal and yard waste to hoarding clean-outs, pressure washing, and even dog waste pick-up, Keller’s Clean-Up Services offers a wide range of support for property owners.

Keller spent nearly a decade with the Shoshone County Sheriff’s Office, most recently serving as the agency’s lone detective. After years of confronting difficult and often traumatic situations, he decided it was time for a new path.

“I reached a point in my law enforcement career where I realized it was time to step away,” Keller said. “Serving the community as a police officer was deeply rewarding, but I knew I was ready for a new chapter. Now, I have the opportunity to continue supporting the community, just in a different way, and that’s something I’m truly excited about.”

So, how does a seasoned law enforcement officer pivot to hands-on property clean-up? The answer lies in an unexpected source of inspiration.

“One of my biggest inspirations in starting this business has been Gary Vaynerchuk,” Keller said. “What really resonates with me about Gary is his no-nonsense approach to building something from the ground up and his emphasis on just starting instead of overthinking.”

Vaynerchuk, better known as Gary Vee, is a Belarusian American entrepreneur, author, and internet personality. In 2009, he co-founded VaynerMedia with his brother AJ, which later evolved into VaynerX, a communications holding company.

“What sets Gary apart is how he blends hustle with empathy. He constantly talks about listening to your customers, providing value, and being authentic in everything you do,” Keller said. “That perspective is pushing me to build Keller’s Clean-Up Services not just as a way to make a living, but as a way to make a real difference for the people in my community.”

Currently, the business is a father-son operation, with Keller and his father, Bill, handling the workload. But Keller hopes to grow the team as demand increases.

Though still in its early stages, Keller is focused on building a business rooted in reliability, dedication, and community values.

Small businesses often face an uphill battle — only about 50% of new ventures in Idaho survive beyond five years. But Keller is determined to defy the odds.

His philosophy is simple: build something meaningful that lasts. Or, as Gary Vee puts it, “Legacy is greater than currency.”

“In 10 years, I see Keller’s Clean-Up Services as a trusted name in North Idaho for reliable, respectful, and community-focused clean-up work,” Keller said. “As we grow, my goal is to expand our reach and take on more projects while maintaining the personal, small-business touch that sets us apart.

“In 20 to 30 years, I hope the business has become a cornerstone in the community, providing steady work for local employees, helping countless families reclaim their spaces, and continuing to operate with the same values we started with: hard work, integrity, and putting people first. Even as we grow, I want our company to always feel like your neighbors are showing up to help, not just another company.”
