The Post Falls Chamber of Commerce recently gathered for our annual Recognition Reception to honor remarkable individuals and businesses who have made a profound impact in Post Falls. It was uplifting to witness the strength, generosity, and dedication in our community. 

Please join me in celebrating this year’s outstanding award recipients: 

Spirit of Post Falls Award: 

Safe Start — Honored for improving child safety by providing no-cost car seat checks, distributing car seats, and delivering essential education. Their impactful program has inspired communities both locally and nationwide. 

Volunteer of the Year: 

Jordan Cisco — Recognized for going above and beyond, donating generously of his time and resources, enthusiastically assisting with event logistics, and fostering welcoming environments through warmth and positivity. 

Small Business of the Year: 

New York Pizza Department — Celebrated for generously supporting local events and organizations, particularly those benefiting first responders, veterans, and youth. Their selfless service continually strengthens our community. 

Business of the Year: 

HMH Engineering — Honored for their commitment to empowering employees, investing in local youth, and cultivating a culture of generosity and giving. Their leadership sets an outstanding example for all businesses in our community. 

Heritage Award: 

Kerri Thoreson — Recognized for more than four decades of devoted volunteer service throughout Kootenai County. Kerri's dedication, extensive knowledge, and commitment to uplifting others embody true servant leadership. 

Citizen of the Year: 

Rick Rasmussen — Awarded for over a decade of servant leadership, enthusiastic community involvement, and dedicated support for education, youth initiatives, and local partnerships. 

Looking ahead…our Education-Focused event season is upon us! Check out these meaningful events designed to serve our community and youth. Here is how you can get involved: 


Reverse Job Fair 

When: March 26, 12:30-2:30 p.m. 

Where: Real Life Ministries Post Falls campus 

Details: More than $20,000 in scholarships will be awarded. We are seeking volunteers — particularly in Healthcare, Trades, and Engineering — to conduct interviews with students. This is an incredible opportunity to positively impact students' futures.

Educator Thank You 

When: April 8, 8:30-11 a.m. 

Details: Now in its fourth year, this event shows our heartfelt gratitude to local educators. We seek donations including gifts, thank-you notes, and non-perishable food items. 

Action: Deliver your donations to the Chamber by April 1 


Hard Hats, Hammers, Healthcare, and Hot Dogs 

When: April 17, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. 

Details: This interactive event helps local high school students explore opportunities for living-wage careers in Kootenai County. Booth spaces (indoor and outdoor) are still available.

North Idaho Business Expo and Career Fair 

When: April 30, 4-6 p.m. 

Where: The new Peak Fitness Heath & Wellness Center, Post Falls 

Event Sponsor: Northwest Specialty Hospital 

Details: Free and open to the public, featuring over 80 local businesses. Ideal for recruiting and promoting your organization.
