Greetings!

I love the quote above as this has definitely been me embracing my new role as executive director. I know learning and making mistakes is part of the process and I certainly have done a lot of both things. Thank you all for being patient!

As the new ED, I’m one of the first people you will meet, besides our director of Membership Sales, Kathe Beardsley. My goal is not only to bring in new members, but also to try to nurture the ones we already have.

Since our Chamber has so many different backgrounds representing categories from a yoga studio, banks and credit unions, dog sitting, as well as multimillion dollar corporations, there is still something we all have in common with the Hayden Chamber of Commerce — everyone wants to grow their business, make strong business connections and make the community a better place to live.

Networking and growth is not about handing out business cards, it is about creating enough value to people so people become valuable to you. In this new way of normal, we need to find creative ways to help one another grow, while also developing a great relationship.

I want to see all our members use the Chamber as a resource portal for business information and connections. For those of you who are still considering membership, I would love for you to get involved in this community and our Chamber. If you are a seasoned or startup business, the Chamber is here to offer resources for long-term success.

In the months ahead, I hope to be able to offer more outdoor marketing events so we can help bring visibility to all the businesses in our Chamber community by enticing members and potential members to attend. We are also here for those who are still not able to venture out completely. Let us know what is happening in your business world and we will get that information out to our members.

Watch for our breakfast meeting in March to be back in person at the Best Western Plus Coeur d’Alene Inn on March 25 at 7 a.m. We will also be posting Live on Facebook and YouTube for those who want to watch from their home or office.

Here’s to hoping March doesn’t come in roaring like the lion it did last year!
