A Circle K convenience store is now at 70 N. Beck Road at State Line.

Always open, the place offers five island fueling stations with 24 gas and diesel options, a 24-hour high-pressure car wash, a soda and coffee station, a walk-in beer cave and a hot-food station.

Metro Express Car Wash celebrates grand opening

Metro Express Car Wash celebrated its grand opening in Hayden with the Chamber of Commerce and Young Construction.

An $8,000 donation went to Children's Village, which provides a safe haven for children and families experiencing abuse, neglect or crisis.

Metro Express features innovative MetroMax car wash with Graphine Armor technology. The company has locations in Idaho, Washington and Montana. Hours are 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sundays. Check    

North Point Plaza is under construction

With the groundbreaking for new buildings for Grocery Outlet and 7-Eleven stores, North Point Plaza is being constructed in the northeast corner of Highway 41 and Poleline Avenue.

Cultivation Counseling opens in Hayden

The locally owned mental health therapy agency of Cultivation Counseling has opened its fourth location at 8152 N. Wayne Drive in Hayden.

Services include medication management to help meet emotional and psychological health needs for individuals, couples and families. The team includes therapists, counselors, social workers and psychiatric nurse practitioners. Founder and owner is Dan Hanks. The location is shared with Summit Health and Wellness.

Eats on Spokane Street food truck court coming

A food court project called Eats on Spokane Street is coming in April to property at the corner of Second Avenue and Spokane Street in Post Falls. 

Located next to Post Falls Brewing Co., it will open in the summer with a shed-roof pavilion with roll-up doors and restaurant tenants of Melfit Healthy Kitchen and Nachos Cantina, an indoor dining space and restrooms.

It will host eight food trucks and offer live music, movie nights, cornhole tournaments, firepits and more. Check and check Instagram and Facebook.

Hayden Surgery Center opening in phases

The new Hayden Surgery Center at 8552 Government Way is opening in phases with comprehensive care including Orthopedic Urgent Care and Orthopedic Physical Therapy.

Built specifically for patients with mobility problems who need orthopedic outpatient surgery, it features the clinic, a physical therapy office and five operating rooms. The physician team includes Dr. Jeff Lyman, Dr. Adam Olscamp, Dr. Chris Arena, Dr. Lee Stowell and Dr. Darren Plummer.


Flo's Coffee opening soon

With a drive-through and a walk-up window for walkers and trail users, Flo's Coffee will open soon at 2691 W. Seltice Way.

Fiore Beauty & Wellness opens

With a full-service spa and yoga studio, Fiore Beauty & Wellness has opened in Suite 104 of the new Mill Building at 1705 N. Government Way.

The staff offers holistic massage, body and facial treatments, lash and brow services, special occasion and bridal makeup, waxing and classes in the heated yoga-pilates studio. Owner Cherith Brown is joined by Lauren Ashley, Taylor Jennae and Sierra Park. "Fiore" is Italian for "flower."

Owl Cafe building could become Hayden community center

The historic Owl Cafe at 9178 N. Government Way in Hayden could become a community center through Hayden Urban Renewal (HURA), which was formed in 2005 to help the city of Hayden improve and redevelop areas for improvement of urban design with the provision of public art and strategic planning of projects and plans oriented toward job creation.

Hayden residents and business owners Joel and Karen Pearl of Pearl Realty bought the place with original plans to move their office (at 9493 Government Way) there and add a new restaurant. They were approached by HURA and changed their plans.   

Editor's note: This report was edited to reflect that the Owl Cafe could become a community center. It is a possibility, not a done deal.

Gesa Credit Union adds state line place

Gesa Credit Union has added an Idaho branch at 317 S. Beck Road at State Line.

The full-service financial institution has 42 branches in Washington and Idaho with a complete array of consumer, mortgage and business products and services. With the grand opening April 1, hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays.

Four new places will join Beck Road building

With a summer opening planned, four businesses will occupy the new building under construction at 264 S. Beck Road at State Line.

With Garco Construction in charge, the places will be Wendy's, Joint Chiropractic, The Man Shop and probably Capriotti's Sandwich Shop. Project manager is Michael Barr.

NAPA Auto Parts also on Beck Road

A new NAPA Auto Parts place has joined the fast-developing area at 344 S. Beck Road.

Cascadia Pizza Co. Cd'A location grand opening

Cascadia Pizza Co. held its grand opening April 20 at 1422 W. Appleway (the former location of Firehouse Subs).

Owner Raffi Peltekian offers Neapolitan-inspired, wood-fired pizza, beverages with beer and wine in a family place that seats about 100 people indoor and out. The opening gave 100 guests the chance to win free pizza for a year. Cascadia also will host fundraisers for school booster clubs, food banks and other organizations.

Soulcial Motion Group Fitness Studio opens

• A Marriott Hotel will be on about a half acre at 602 and 612 E. Sherman Ave. The six-story hotel will include 131 guest rooms, 130 parking stalls among the main level and three levels underground, an administration area, a bar, kitchen, lounge, dining area, meeting area, laundry, fitness room and a rooftop patio bar.

• A new facility for Peak Health and Wellness Center is under construction at 4425 N. Fennecus Road in Post Falls. It will move in August from 927 E. Polston (Suite 101). The new place will include eight indoor and eight outdoor pickleball courts, strength equipment, cardio and group fitness, a kids club, juice bar, pro shop, full locker room.

• The Goodwill store on Fourth Street will reopen in the summer with a $3 million remodel.

• DOMA Coffee Roasting Company will open a cafe in the 3,000-square-foot main floor in the new building off the Centennial Trail at 3091 S. Atlas Road. It includes indoor and outdoor seating with views up and down the river, coffee, tea and local pastries and takeout. • The Marcus Anderson building under construction at 8182 N. Wayne Drive in Hayden has commercial units to be occupied by Ascent Counseling and Marcus Anderson Family Foundation (now at 8382 N. • The Thomas George building under construction at Third Street and Front Avenue downtown will be 18 stories.
