40 Under 40: Kate Mosgrove

After graduating from high school in Coeur d’Alene, Kate Mosgrove, 30, attended trade school for painting and went to college for interior design, then formed Dovetail Home Designs in 2019.

"After working for a local painting company, I saw a need for creative contractors in the industry," Mosgrove said.

As the owner of a painting company, Mosgrove's responsibilities include brainstorming with clients, managing job sites, prep work, curating decor for a space and creating unique finishes, such as murals or faux techniques. 

Mosgrove said she is honored to be recognized alongside North Idaho’s most industrious people.

"Inspiring my daughter to chase her dreams has been my biggest motivator," she said. "As a female tradesperson and entrepreneur, I’m proud to show other women that they have a place in this industry.

"I hope with this acknowledgment I’m able to inspire others that with determination, you really can achieve the life you want," she said.
