Hayden Chamber: Springing into April

As we head into the month of April, the seasons start to change, daylight savings has sprung ahead, we see sunlight longer during the day, and we all start to come out of our bear dens.

I can’t believe we are already into month three of this year. The Hayden Chamber had our first event of the year with Sip, Sample & Savor at Uncorked with Friends on Feb. 13. Thank you, Joe and Holly, for letting us host it at your wine shop. Also, thank you to the vendors who donated the wine and Gathered-A Family Restaurant for the fabulous charcuterie display. Luke Yates, thank you for your musical talents. We had more than 75 guests that made for a wonderful night and congratulations to Susan Butler, office manager at Graham Construction for being the big winner of our huge basket filled with more than $3,200 of gifts donated by members and our community.

February also welcomed The Children’s Village as we celebrated their grand opening/ribbon cutting for their new Family Support Center building. Game Day Men’s Health was another new member that we honored with a grand opening/ribbon cutting celebration as well.

The week of Valentine’s Day was a great time to stop by and visit with some of our members letting them know we appreciate them all and thank them for supporting the Hayden Chamber and we hope to get out to as many as we can, for a visit, before the end of the year.

Our February monthly Networking, Business & Connections meeting brought us our guest speaker, Jeff Conroy with Conroy Leadership Consulting. In his presentation, he spoke about the challenges of leading across five generations in the workplace. The key takeaway? Effective communication and adaptability are essential. Leaders must tailor their approach to meet the diverse needs and preferences of each generation, from Baby Boomers to Generation Z.

The Hayden Chamber had the pleasure of giving out our Volunteer of the Year Award at last months NBC. Nadeen Hayes has been in the banking industry for 29 years, the last 13 of which have been with U.S. Bank. During her tenure with U.S. Bank, she has worked in the Branch and with her Small Business Banking Team.

She has done an excellent job as a business banker in the North Idaho market uncovering many opportunities and leads, not only for her small business banking team, but also for her commercial banking team in North Idaho.

In April 2023, Nadeen joined the North Idaho/Western Montana Business Banking Team and was given the title as relationship manager in Coeur d’Alene.

Nadeen was the winner of last year’s Amateur “Beer Bartender” award at our 2023 Bacon, Bloody’s & Brews Festival with her homemade beer! I just received her application last Tuesday that she will be back defending her title.

Her husband and her co-workers were all there to be a part of this award ceremony. Handing over the award to her was last year’s recipient Kathleen Holstein.

Marching forward, the chamber is ready to launch into a bevy of activities and events. Keep on the lookout for our Chamber After Hours, Networking, Business & Connection meetings and the upcoming 4th annual Bacon, Bloody’s & Brews Festival on May 15. We are also sponsoring the food drive for the North Idaho Veterans Stand Down and are accepting any and all food, and non-perishable items including dog and cat food.
