Post Falls Chamber: Adventures and more

It has been a ton of fun this first quarter of 2024. Earlier this month, I explored Thailand with a group of 14 locals, indulging in delicious cuisine, immersing in culture and fostering fellowship. Interested in joining us? We're headed to Ireland this fall with a discounted registration deadline on March 31, and Costa Rica in February 2025, with an orientation on May 23. Let's travel together soon!

Leading up to the Thailand trip, our team was bustling with events and planning for future adventures.

Last week, the Reverse Job Fair awarded nearly $20,000 in scholarships. Huge thanks to the Reverse Job Fair Committee for their hard work and dedication: Rana Cantrell, RJF chair; Camey Yeager, interview assignment; DeAnn Johnson, orientation; Alan Wolfe, event logistics; Amy Boni, event setup; Sheri Bullock and Brett Cummings, judging team; and Maren Maier and Kim Young, registration.

Special appreciation to the staff and teachers at Post Falls High School, New Vision and Genesis Prep for their collaboration in ensuring student success. We're also grateful to more than 130 interviewers who provided real-world experience to the students. Great job, everyone!

I also want to recognize our scholarship award donors. Thank you to the Bowersox Family, TDS, Advanced Benefits, Eastern Washington, Express Employment Professionals, Heritage Health, IAFF, Kootenai Health Foundation, Northwest Specialty Hospital, Post Falls Kiwanis Club, Post Falls School District, Rich Houser Memorial Foundation, Mountain West Bank, First Interstate Bank, North Idaho Higher Education, Knudtsen Chevrolet, Post Falls Rotary, Post Falls Chamber of Commerce, River City Leadership Academy, STCU, Idaho Central Credit Union, Post Falls Lions Club, North Idaho College Foundation and Lewis-Clark State College.

The next big event supporting our local students is the Hard Hats, Hammers and Hot Dogs event on April 12 at Kootenai Technical Education Center and the Parker Technical Education Center. More than 600 students from all over the region including, as far north as Sandpoint and as far east as Mullan, come to learn about post high school opportunities in the trades. We are still seeking sponsors, volunteers and vendors. For more information, please visit www.h4idaho.com.

Our team has been busy bringing on new investors for our community. Please welcome and support the following businesses: New Heights Roofing, Sculpt Studios Med Spa, Peak One Administration, River City Movers, Front ROI, Panhandle Farm Corridor, Leadership Innovations, North Idaho Arms, Kona Ice, Lexar Homes, Fastsigns of Spokane and the Innovation Collective. We look forward to helping these businesses succeed and engage.

Finally, I would like to announce a significant event: for the first time, we're merging our Community Business Fair with the Coeur d’Alene Regional Chamber to create the North Idaho Business Expo and Career Fair on May 1 at the Kootenai County Fairgrounds. Collaborating with the Idaho Department of Labor on the Career Fair portion, we've combined the best features from both events. Enjoy a vendor-to-vendor reception, vendor bingo with cash prizes, an event MC/DJ and designated interview areas. Spaces are limited, so register now at www.postfallschamber.org.
